FAME Week Africa is back and bolder than ever from 1 to 6 September 2025, and registration is officially open for attendees and conference delegates.

Fame Week Africa 2025 networking

The Cape Town International Convention Centre will again become the epicentre of Africa’s creative economy as film, TV, music, and fashion collide for a week of deal-making, networking, trendspotting, and culture-defining conversations.

Multichoice, one of Africa’s premier media companies and a key partner of FAME Week Africa, will be at the event as part of MIP Africa; the film and TV focused platform for FAME Week, “MultiChoice is committed to the continued evolution and sustainability of Africa’s creative industries — and to backing the people and ideas that shape the continent’s creative voices,” says Nomsa Philiso, CEO of General Entertainment at MultiChoice Group. “Our involvement in MIP Africa at FAME Week goes far beyond traditional sponsorship. This is where ideas find backing, talent finds opportunity, and creative ambition finds a way forward — and we’re committed to investing in that momentum and helping it grow.”

Why FAME Week Africa?

Whether pitching a series, placing a soundtrack, designing a red carpet look or animating a superhero—FAME Week connects opportunity and action. The programme includes curated meetings, live conversations, fresh talent and serious business opportunities as well as plenty of networking events. The ultimate goal? Make work and get it seen  – locally and internationally.

The overall event houses different focus areas in the sector:

MIP Africa | 1–3 September 2025

MIP Africa delivers tailored one-on-one matchmaking between Africa’s brightest creators and the world’s leading buyers, platforms, and producers. A programme of speakers and events includes hot takes on audience trends, the power of AI, spotlight sessions on women in film and co-production opportunities that make deals happen.

Animation Africa | 1–3 September 2025

The continent’s animators are taking the world by storm—and this is where they will gather. With live pitching, studio showcases and deep-dive panels, attendees will be able to learn more about the opportunities and possibilities for animation in Africa now.

Muziki Afrika | 1–3 September 2025

Music meets money, tech, and media. From copyright masterclasses and sync deals to the art of the music video and digital distribution, this is a full-spectrum dive into Africa’s vibrant music industry—complete with matchmaking between rights holders, labels, and screen producers.

African Fashion Forum (AFF) | 2–3 September 2025

Where style meets screen. AFF explores the cultural power of fashion within entertainment. Expect panel discussions, industry networking, fashion shows and front-row access to Africa’s next wave of fashion stars.

FAME Shorts Film Festival | 4–6 September 2025

The week ends in the FAME Shorts Film Festival —a curated celebration of short-form storytelling from across Africa and its global diaspora. Short films are often a less expensive way to create evidence of ideas and talent and the presence of both a local and international contingent of film industry decision-makers. The Festival culminates in an award ceremony recognising the best of the showcase.

Last year, FAME Week Africa hosted exhibitors from 35 countries, including 14 African nations, showcasing the event’s global reach. As global shifts challenge established pathways for distribution and creativity, FAME Week will consider the place of Africa in the international creative industry.

“With global demand for authentic, diverse content rising, Africa is emerging as one of the most exciting creative hubs in the world,” says Martin Hiller, Portfolio Director for FAME Week Africa. “Audiences are hungry for what our artists are producing—fresh perspectives, untold stories, and cultural brilliance. It’s a creative goldmine, and it’s coming together at FAME Week 2025.”
