The official opening and handover ceremony took place in March 2022. At the ceremony, ICT equipment was donated to the value of over R200 000 and it was used for existing science classrooms. Classrooms were transformed into a state-of-the-art Technolab equipped with digital tools to help learners to bridge the digital divide.

Rectron understands that companies need to work with the communities where it operates. Computer equipment and technology is a wonderful enabler for education. This is why Rectron uses PEU to provide essential tools to those who need them most. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1652451048749{padding-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][mk_image src=”https://augpl.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/rectron-4.jpg” image_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][mk_image src=”https://augpl.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/rectron-5.jpg” image_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row column_padding=”” css=”.vc_custom_1652451124181{padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1652450051342{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]PEU means ‘seed’ in Setswana and it aims to plant the seed of education within the youth of South Africa through digital literacy. The PEU programme brought branch managers that are within the province to visit the schools and find out which ICT equipment and tools would lead to the biggest impact for these young students of KwaZulu-Natal. “We wanted all employees to be a part of selecting the new name, objective and purpose behind the PEU initiative,” said Rawana. Education is an important aspect of any country to develop well. Low grades in maths and science puts pressure on South Africa and means that SA is not ready for 4IR.

Rectron plans to build a long-term partnership with these schools by providing more support to them in the coming years. Giving back to society is important to Rectron. Rectron hopes to introduce additional bursary opportunities for grade 12 learners, as well as invite students to join its Skills Development Programme. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1652451088508{padding-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1652451180877{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Get Connected
