hy do I love Durban, you ask? What’s not to like?
Everywhere takes you maximum of 20 minutes to get too; navigating is easy as you have the ocean on one side and the Berea on the other.
Durban is a cultural melting pot more cosmopolitan than most other places on the continent. The cultures fascinate me. There is a myriad of free entertainment that one can take advantage of in Durban. We have beaches galore, the warm Indian Ocean lapping our shores and the best promenade in the world stretching the length of the city.
You will spot thousands of people cycling, running, walking, skateboarding, rollerblading and more up and down the promenade daily. We even have outdoor gyms and countless exercise classes happening up and down the full length of the promenade daily.

Within the promenade precinct, we have 2 world-class stadiums in Moses Mabhida and Hollywood Bets Kings Park which are great for concerts and sporting fixtures alike. Suncoast Casino is also jam-packed with entertainment options.
The cultural melting pot is another unique feature of Durban. The food creations from the multicultural society are heavenly. If it’s a Bunny Chow at Brittania or Shisanyama at Max’s in Umlazi you have endless selections.
Shopaholics will have their every wish entertained at our super-regional malls and even an adventure to Warwick Triangle the selection is endless.
For me, the climate is the best drawcard for Durban. Humid summers, temperate windless autumns and only pulling your jersey out a maximum of five times in our pratically non-existent winter and vibrantly breezy spring.
The mountains and game parks are just three hours away which offer phenomenal tourist hot spots and variety to tempt every pocket.
Besides all of this: Durban is comfortable, Durban is effortless, Durban is home.
