The Hidden Spaces music performance series aims to create a new contemporary platform for music artists who are often overlooked by mainstream platforms. These gigs serve to connect in order to share the current soundscape with a global audience.
The intimate evenings are filmed on location at curated hidden spaces in front of a live audience. This popular series weaves together music, art and intimacy, providing a beautiful audiovisual experience for visitors who attend the events, as well as for the viewer who consumes the series.
A strong focus is placed on the experience and the ability of the music to blend in with, and enhance the surrounding environment.
Each episode is complemented with an additional up-close ‘bonus’ interview, featuring a short but in-depth conversation with the artist, with a strong focus on the craft behind the art and the process of bringing the music into creation.
The Venues
Each venue is a carefully curated hidden gem in one of Johannesburg’s coolest suburbs for the creative community. At heart, the events venues are designed to transform listeners from the hustle and bustle of the everyday into moments of authentic being and feeling. It’s a step beneath the surface to a space that is as creative as it is safe for expression, both individually and connected as a community. Music and sound are at the heart of each space.
