A generous selection of delicious seasonal treats, freshly prepared by the Cape Point Vineyards kitchen, is packed into wicker picnic baskets for guests to enjoy on the estate’s lawns this summer.
The adult picnic basket is a feast for two – featuring an artisan cheese selection of Picnic Camembert, three-month Boerenkaas, Stanford and Kwaito, alongside Italian charcuterie – prosciutto, coppa and salami rustico. Fresh ciabatta and crisp lavash are accompanied by whipped herb butter, mushroom pâté and onion marmalade.
The savoury selection continues with free-range chicken drumsticks, roasted with Cape spices, and a peach and toasted almond salad with pickled red onion, fresh herbs and apricot-lemon dressing. Marinated olives and a colourful selection of summer fruits – watermelon, pineapple, grapes and strawberries – add a fresh seasonal touch, while a Sauvignon Blanc lemon posset, served in its own hollowed-out lemon, provides a citrusy finish.
There are vegetarian and vegan options too, ensuring that everyone can join in the picnic experience, while younger guests have their own specially prepared baskets.

Bookings and prices
Picnic baskets must be booked at least 48 hours in advance and will be available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until April 2027, weather permitting.
Standard and vegetarian picnic baskets, serving two, are R750, while the vegan basket is R765. Mini-me baskets for children aged 12 and younger are R185.
