As Cape Town settles into winter, The Good Table returns on Tuesday, 30 June, 2026, inviting Capetonians to swap traffic for good company and gather around the table for a warming curry supper in support of Ladles of Love.

Hosted at The Gin Bar from 18h00 to 20h30, the monthly community dining experience brings together some of the city’s favourite food businesses to raise funds for vulnerable communities during the colder months.

Chef Marné Gelderbloem

This month’s menu will be prepared by chef Marné Gelderbloem of Mariah Curry, who will be serving two hearty winter curries designed to chase away the chill. All ingredients will be sourced from Ladles of Love sustainability programme, Feed The Soil. And while Mariah Carey famously sings “We Belong Together”, that’s exactly what The Good Table is all about: bringing people together around good food for a good cause.

Guests can also look forward to fresh bread from Silo Bakery, a sweet finish from Honest Chocolate and wine from Hartenberg Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.

Sharing a meal

The Good Table was created around a simple idea: bringing people together to share a meal while making a difference. With net proceeds benefiting Ladles of Love, each dinner helps support the organisation’s ongoing work feeding and uplifting communities across South Africa.

Winter is traditionally one of the busiest periods for food relief organisations as colder weather places additional pressure on vulnerable communities. Initiatives like The Good Table help channel community support directly to organisations working on the frontlines.

Whether you’re looking to avoid the evening commute, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy good food for a good cause, The Good Table offers a warm and meaningful way to spend a winter evening.

Note: Space is limited to 70 people. Follow The Gin Bar, Honest Chocolate and Mariah Curry on Instagram for updates and future Good Table events.
