The Cape Town International Jazz Festival has unveiled some of the acts appearing on the 2025 bill. And it’s a collection of ground-breaking artists who define the future of music while staying deeply connected to their cultural and musical heritage.
The 2025 CTIJF line-up includes the likes of Thandiswa Mazwai, Linda Sikhakhane, Benjamin Jephta featuring Kujenga, the Kyle Shepherd Trio, Nomfundo Xaluva, iPhupho L’ka Biko and The Ploemies. Plus there’s the first announcements of Black Coffee and pianist Nduduzo Makhathini, followed up with the smooth, sultry Ari Lennox, the Victor Masondo Quartet featuring Thembi Mtshali and Bheki Khoza.
Other acts set to light up the festival stage are Bombay Lights, trombonist Malcolm Jiyane, Lira, the Supercrew powerhouse, and the dynamic Plurism. Then there’s modern-day poet Bongeziwe Mabandla; Jamaican-American artist Masego who is known for his unique “TrapHouseJazz” style, a fusion of jazz, R&B, and hip-hop; British acid jazz pioneers Incognito have been at the forefront of the genre since 1979, seamlessly blending jazz, funk, and soul; South African DJ and producer Kelvin Momo; The Brother Moves On and Russian saxophonist and bandleader Igor Butman.

And the best part? We’re only halfway through our artist reveals. The next two rounds of announcements are going to be absolutely thrilling.”
With more than 30 artists set to perform at this year’s festival, expect even bigger surprises and jaw-dropping talent still to come. The CTIJF remains Africa’s Grandest Gathering, bringing together the best of jazz, soul, and beyond in an unforgettable celebration of music.
