The Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert series returns this winter, opening its 2026 season with a special Father’s Day event on Sunday, 21 June at the iconic Durban Botanic Gardens.
Marking the start of the winter concert calendar, Mi Casa will take top billing as they return to one of Durban’s most beloved outdoor stages. Audiences can expect a signature live performance featuring a carefully curated selection of fan favourites and timeless hits, delivered in an intimate, open-air setting.
Outdoor leisure
Joining the lineup is genre-blending singer-songwriter lordkez, whose introspective and soulful sound continues to captivate audiences nationwide. Her performance promises a powerful and emotive experience, adding depth and contrast to an afternoon centred around live music, outdoor leisure, and meaningful connection.
Hosted beside the gardens’ scenic lake, the concert continues to offer audiences a distinctive open-air experience – pairing top-tier local talent with a relaxed, picnic-friendly environment that has become synonymous with the series.
This opening event also serves as a Father’s Day celebration, inviting families and friends to honour the father figures in their lives. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, cooler boxes, blankets, and camping chairs – making for a relaxed, comfortable and memorable day under the winter sun.
Garden Window Project
Beyond the music, the event contributes to the Garden Window Project, a community-focused initiative based at the Durban Botanic Gardens that promotes environmental awareness, skills development, and social upliftment.
