Get ready to connect with the beats and minds shaping Africa’s creative economy! The Music Imbizo returns to Durban from 26 to 29 August 2026 for four dynamic days of music business conferences, live showcases, networking and a dedicated film festival.

Centred around this year’s theme, “Toward a Sacred Economy of Sound – Building the Systems for a Conscious Music Industry”, the event brings together artists, industry professionals, policymakers and music lovers to explore the future of Africa’s music ecosystem.

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival will be represented by Georgia Jones on Day 3 in a panel discussion exploring The African Music City: Venues, Safety and Policy.

The session will examine what it takes to build an “African Music City” where venues can thrive, audiences feel safe, artists can earn, and municipalities can see measurable returns through jobs, tourism and night-time economy growth.

Panellists include:

DJ Merlon – DJ, Producer & Promoter, South Africa

Vuyisile Mshudulu – City of Johannesburg, South Africa

Napoleon Nyanhi – National Arts Council of Zimbabwe

Thato Matlhabaphiri – PodicastWithSCAR, Botswana
