Neville D, the Grammy-nominated songwriter, singer, and producer, has teamed up with Victory4All to unveil a touching and exciting partnership which sees the release of “Groot Ja,” a collaboration with the NPO’s Primary School Choir, King’s College, located in Jeffreys Bay, in the Eastern Cape.Neville D wrote the Afrikaans song “Groot Ja”, which means “Big Yes”, a year ago during a difficult time in his life when he was struggling with self-doubt and uncertainty. “During this time, I received a clear message from God to stop doubting myself and reminding me of His approval over my life. This revelation gave me the strength to believe that through Christ, all of God’s promises are “Yes.” I was inspired to write the song as a testament to God’s faithfulness. Through Him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
In 2022, Neville D visited Victory4All and was profoundly touched by its mission, leading him to join the organisation in any capacity possible. Neville D, together with his wife and three children, will be relocating from Cape Town to Jeffreys Bay to make it their home. Honoured to take on the role of musical director, he will use his skills to foster the musical talents of the numerous talented children under the care of Victory4All.
Victory4All’s projects are founded on biblical principles and according to founder Johan Vos, “We believe that providing children with a quality education in a secure environment is essential to breaking the cycle of poverty.” Since 2003, Victory4All has been working tirelessly to provide a brighter future for children in the Jeffrey’s Bay and Humansdorp areas who are most impacted by hunger, illness, violence, prostitution, a lack of adequate housing and sanitation, and many orphaned by HIV/AIDS. With the help of over 80 dedicated local and international staff and volunteers, Victory4All provides more than 650 children with an exceptional education in a nurturing environment.
Neville D found that in collaborating with the learners, it was a full circle moment for him having started singing at a very young age too. “Positively influencing the next generation is very dear to me and it is so important that we take it seriously. Jesus said in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” The message of this song for every listener is that there is already a yes on your life, you already have the approval of God. You do not have to work for it, God has already loved and accepted you before the foundations of the earth.” Concludes Neville D.
“Groot Ja” is available on all major digital platforms.
