The arrival of Spring in the Langeberg-Breede River region is heralded by a remarkable music event soon to take place in Robertson. Humans and donkeys alike will benefit from a feast of light classical music to be performed by the treasured Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday, 14 September, 2025, at 3pm.
Hosted by Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary, Music for All highlights the power of music to bring people together during challenging times by celebrating the beauty and inspiration conveyed by fine music.
Africa’s oldest and probably most renowned symphony ensemble perform with great passion and talent, coupled with an intense connection to the music. It becomes not just a concert but an unforgettable experience. In a captivating observation after their previous visit to this region one music-lover observed: ”The Philharmonic Orchestra turns melodies into memories”.

Tickets can be purchased online at or at the door of the venue The Oos-Kerk in Robertson from 2.15 pm on concert day. Cost for adults is R180 and R90 for students.
The auditorium at the church features fine acoustics and good sight-lines from all seats.
The concert programme is sure to generate wide appeal. Favourites such as Waltz of the Flowers (Tchaikovsky) and Offenbach’s Can-Can will entertain along with selections from composer such as Grieg, Rossini and Saint-Saëns. Of special interest will be a medley to honour the Patron of Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary, the much-loved David Kramer.
